After working as an Economic Adviser to the President of Kazakhstan, Professor Yelena Kalyuzhnova founded and remains the Director of the Centre for Euro-Asian Studies at the University of Reading, UK. She is an authoritative expert of the economics of energy and transition economies. Professor Kalyuzhnova is the author of the first English-language book on the Kazakhstani economy, two research monographs, as well as a range of academic papers on economic issues. She is also an editor of four inter-disciplinary books on a range of topics. Within the UK government, Professor Kalyuzhnova served as an economic adviser on Caspian issues to the Rt. Hon. Lord Fraser of Carmyllie, Q.C., House of Lords as well as the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Kazakhstan, House of Commons. (2007-2010). She now serves as Vice Dean of Henley Business School, where she has obtained numerous research grants from a variety of sources to support field research, regular conferences, and numerous visiting researchers from Eurasian countries. As a researcher. She is also a member of the Council of the British Institute of Energy Economics.
