The collaboration is a partnership between Henley Business School UK, a ‘Triple-A’ rated business school, and Kazakh-British Technical University Business School (further, KBTU) in Kazakhstan, which is developing its teaching and research capacity in a range of areas. The goal is to develop a Centre for Competitiveness at KBTU focused on the role of large corporations in the energy value chain, particularly their potential ontribution to economic development via local content, information technology adoption and entrepreneurship. Henley and KBTU have extensive links with key large energy corporations in Kazakhstan. Funding will finance the hiring of post doctoral researchers and research assistants, with a major in-kind contribution by both partners to assure delivery.
